Influence of the working surface roughness of the pulsed X-ray radiation galvanic sensor on its performance

A new design of a galvanic sensor pulsed X-ray radiation is proposed, which flat electric capacitor with window in one metal lining and solid dielectric made single-crystal sapphire thickness 200-300 μm inside. The influence the surface roughness area on linear has been established. Tests have shown that, ultra-smooth polishing plate working to R q ≤ 0.2 nm, it possible provide detection X-rays an energy range 0.1-1 keV power density 1-2 MW· cm -2 response time about 8 ns.
